We start a new Foundations Course every month. Each course runs for four weeks and is held on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 pm. The course opens for enrolment one month prior to the starting date. It is very popular and usually books up pretty quickly, so we advise to book as early as possible. To receive an email notification the moment the next course opens for enrolment please send us an email.
You should wear comfortable sneakers and loose fitting clothes (i.e. a T-shirt and shorts or trek pants). Singlets are not permitted for hygienic reasons.
We also advise to bring a bottle of water and a towel. In terms of protective gear, you will need a mouth guard and a groin guard. You will not need these until your second week and they are available for purchase at our gym.
Yes. But there is no pressure to buy it from us. If you already have protective gear, you are welcome to bring use it, but you must first show it to one of our instructors so we can make sure that it is suitable for Krav Maga training.
No problem. In every class we revise the material that was taught in the previous session. At the end of your course you will also have a revision and summary session. This way you will be able to catch up on the material you missed. If you miss 4 or more classes, you will need to book a private session with one of our instructors before joining the upper level classes.
If you have never trained in Krav Maga before, the techniques taught in this course will be new to you.
You should still start with the Foundations course. Besides learning new techniques, the course will teach you to apply your existing skills in new ways. Having experience in martial arts may help you pick up the material quicker and after completion of your course you might advance faster then other students through the levels.
Over the years we have receiveda lot of positive feedback from black belts, competitive MMA and Muay-Thai fighters as well as Martial Art instructors who completed this course and later joined our higher levels. It’s a great introduction to Krav Maga, now matter what your level is.
If you have not been training for over a year we still recommend you do the course as a refresher but this is up to you.
You will not have complete the Foundations course:
1. If you hold an IKMF P1 level or above you can start at one of our higher level classes.
2. If you have been training with another Krav Maga organization regularly for more then a year.
In both cases you will be required to present a diploma or certificate for verification purposes.
