Hey you! You’re probably here because you’ve heard of a kick ass workshop that helps you get fit AND learn some hectic self defence moves… welcome!
We're all looking forward to training with you, and if you haven't done Krav Maga before (we know it sounds pretty bad ass ^^), here's what you need to know about us.
FIRST THING'S FIRST
SHE FIGHTS BACK is a 2.5 hour Krav Maga workshop for women that is completely different from your usual women's self defence training. Here, we're not professional fighters/ wrestlers. We're not super fit and we don't know how to move karate kid style ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So here's the thing, during each of our workshops we get you to train with women of all ages and fitness levels towards one goal: to have fun while improving your fitness level and self-defence skills. Let's face it, (sadly) none of us were born with super powers, and we all need to learn how to keep ourselves (and our loved ones) safe.
NOW ABOUT THE KRAV...MA-WHAT-GA?
Krav Maga comes from the Hebrew "Contact Combat". It is a world-renowned self defence system that was developed in the Israeli Defence Forces to teach both military and civilians how to escape from common street attacks.
The great thing with Krav Maga is that it's based on your body's natural reaction to danger. You'll quickly see that you already possess the defence reflexes, you just need to learn how to hone them until the techniques become instinctual.
As having a good fitness level is a great tool to neutralise an attacker, we'll work on that too. You'll get to do some basic cardio moves like abs, squats, burpees (oh yeah!), as well as the fun stuff like punching, kicking and elbowing pads. The cool thing is that most of the training is done with a partner, so you can bring your bestie, mum, sister and/or boss to the session, and we guarantee you'll have a blast and laugh a lot (which is also great for building strong abs)!
In short, SHE FIGHTS BACK is a fun and non-intimidating self-defence workshop for women who want to develop some bad ass defence skills.
And if Ashton Kutcher and James Bond have been doing it for years, we think it's a great excuse to give it a try too ♥‿♥
LET'S GO BACK TO THE MAY WORKSHOP...
Our instructor Saar Markovitch - KMDI Senior Instructor and former Officer in the Israeli Defence Force - will cover the following topics:
- Detect signs of potential threats and de-escalate them
- Put power behind your punch, kick, elbow and knee strikes
- Get out fast of common street attacks such as wrist grabs and choke holds
- Make the switch from being the victim to defending yourself
WHAT IF I'VE BEEN TO A PREVIOUS SFB WORKSHOP, WILL I LEARN ANYTHING NEW?
Absolutely! Saar will make sure you'll learn new defence moves, and do twice the cardio workout (no no, just kiddin...).
